Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
WOUND CARE / THREAD
On the day of your procedure, you will usually receive a prescription for Tyrosur wound gel or powder. This should be used thinly once a day after showering from the second day after the procedure. The wound will heal over a total of four days. In general, wounds should be covered with a commercially available plaster to prevent friction and soiling of the area. Possible reactions include redness, wetness of the wound, and a feeling of tension. If these reactions are acute and severe, please contact us immediately by phone or email.
The stitches used in operations must be removed after 8 days in the facial area and after 14 days in the body. In major operations, subcutaneous stitches are often used in addition. These stitches are sewn under the skin and dissolve on their own within a few weeks.
ALLERGY TEST
Epicutaneous test:
The test for contact allergies takes place over 3 days. Monosubstances are tested on patches that are stuck to the back. After the test has been read after 48 hours, another reading is taken after 72 hours. You can therefore only shower again on the 3rd day. All anti-allergy medications must be discontinued at least 2 days before the test.
prick test:
To diagnose a pollen allergy, test solutions are introduced into the upper layers of skin, usually on the forearms. The test can be evaluated after about 15 minutes. All antihistamines must be discontinued at least 2 days before testing.
KTP-LASER
The KTP laser is used to remove vascular dilations (e.g. in rosacea/couperose) and hemangiomas.
The bundled light penetrates the upper layers of the skin and reacts with the red blood pigment in the vessels. The heat generated causes the small vessels to become dead (photothermolysis).
Spider vein treatment on the legs is usually carried out in combination with a diode laser or the conservative sclerotherapy method.
Treatment time: approx. 15-20 minutes
Treatment period: Another session may be necessary every 4 weeks.
Side effects and risks:
Redness will appear at the laser site for 1-2 hours and minimal scab formation will occur for a few days. The areas may lighten (hypopigmentation) or darken (hyperpigmentation).
UV light should be strictly avoided for 4 weeks before and after treatment.
Downtime: None
After treatment:
- Avoid UV light for 4 weeks
- No sport or sauna for 1 week
FRUIT ACID PEELING
This is a mild form of peels that is primarily used to treat acne and wrinkles on the skin. The principle of the peel is to remove dead skin cells from the top layer of skin (epidermis) and to stimulate skin renewal. The following acids are used for this: salicylic acid, glycolic acid, mandelic acid, retinol, TCA
AFTER-TREATMENT
The fruit acid treatment allows the substances, such as hyaluronic acid serum, to penetrate your skin better and deeper. The peeled skin reacts more sensitively to the sun. Therefore, use sun protection in the following weeks. Between the individual sessions in the practice and after completion of the entire treatment, you should apply a low-concentration fruit acid cream 1-2 times a day in order to maintain the achieved treatment results for a long time.
MICRONEEDLING
In preparation for medical needling, the face is pretreated with a local anesthetic cream. The needling usually lasts 20-30 minutes and leaves a strong reddening of the skin for 2-3 days. The skin is treated alternately with an antibiotic cream and a cold cream for 3 days. Use of sun protection is required for 4 weeks.
